Last week the U.S. Chamber of Commerce released their results from a survey of 300 small business owners, conducted during July 6-8. But even though the Chamber designed the questions with the help of the Lombardo Consulting Group, the answers weren’t exactly in their favor.
According to Question 18 of the survey, 52 percent of the small businesses stated they believe that “labor unions have a positive impact or no impact on job creation.” We don’t think that was the response the Chamber was looking for…
Coincidentally, last March American Rights at Work conducted its own survey of small business owners. As you’ll notice, our results and the Chamber’s results dovetail quite nicely.
According to the results of American Rights at Work’s (more comprehensive and transparent) survey of 1,055 small business owners, 52 percent were strongly “worried that unions have been weakened so much that our economy has actually been hurt.” And 58 percent strongly agreed that “labor unions are necessary to protect the working person.”
Even though the Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest lobbying groups in the world, they just can’t seem to sway small business owners into believing that union activities are dangerous to America.
American Rights at Work’s Executive Director Kimberly Freeman Brown wrote a fantastic piece about the Chamber’s survey in today’s Politico. Check it out!

Why do CONservatives say how much they love America yet it is so apparant how much they HATE Americans !
Without unions our workers would have nothing. Prior to the union movement in the early 20th century people worked 12 or more hours a day, six days a week. They had no sick leave, vacation or worker’s comp. They were truly slaves which, of course, is what the chamber wants to return to.
