This week, T-Mobile technicians in Connecticut voted to form a union with the Communications Workers of America (CWA). While we’re always excited when workers gain the protections and benefits of union membership, it’s especially gratifying to see at T-Mobile, where management has been especially hostile to workers’ rights. In fact, the switchboard operators based in Simsbury, CT, are the first T-Mobile employees in the United States to form a union.
As CWA Local 1298 President Bill Henderson put it, “this vote made history, with T-Mobile workers fighting back to beat the odds and win the union voice they want. It showed the desire of people to have a union and an even playing field.”
Like many employers in the United States, including IKEA, T-Mobile is owned by an international parent company that shows less regard for the rights of its U.S. workforce than the employees in their home country.
As we noted in our report on T-Mobile’s parent company Deutsche Telekom, the company believes in workers’ rights in Germany, where it cooperates with its employees’ unions, but mistreats workers and interferes with their efforts to form unions in the United States. In Germany, Deutsche Telekom is a good corporate citizen; in the United States, it models its behavior on the race to the bottom tactics of Walmart: threatening workers, distributing false information, and employing costly unionbusting consultants.
Nevertheless, even in the face of these obstacles, T-Mobile employees in Connecticut stood up and demanded a voice on the job. We can only hope this marks the beginning of a new, more responsible era at T-Mobile.

My girldfriend has been suffering from allergies since she was very young. When our baby was born, her allergies dissapeared. Is this normal?
The heart of your writing whilst appearing agreeable at first, did not really settle very well with me after some time. Someplace throughout the sentences you actually were able to make me a believer unfortunately only for a very short while. I however have got a problem with your jumps in logic and you would do nicely to fill in those breaks. In the event you actually can accomplish that, I will surely be fascinated.
Most of whatever you assert happens to be astonishingly accurate and it makes me wonder the reason why I had not looked at this in this light previously. Your article really did turn the light on for me as far as this subject matter goes. However at this time there is just one position I am not really too cozy with and whilst I make an effort to reconcile that with the actual core idea of your point, allow me see what all the rest of your visitors have to say.Very well done.
I have discovered some points through your blog post post. One other point I would like to say is that there are many games in the marketplace designed specifically for preschool age children. They incorporate pattern recognition, colors, dogs, and styles. These commonly focus on familiarization instead of memorization. This keeps a child occupied without feeling like they are learning. Thanks
