Thanksgiving is a time to break bread with your loved ones and reflect on all that you have to be thankful for. At least that’s how the movies portray it. In my house, Thanksgiving is about watching football and adding inches to your waistline. So instead of going the traditional Hallmark route, today’s blog will talk about how you can line the dining room table with a cornucopia (pun intended) of union-made deliciousness.
Start supper off with a nice Fresh Express salad topped with some Ken’s salad dressing, both made by United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) workers. Grab some Campbell’s soup (UFCW) and French’s Fried Onions (UFCW) for your green bean casserole. I’m sure your kids would love to have some Mac & Cheese with union-made macaroni from San Giorgio (UFCW). Short on time and storage space? Grab some Pillsbury frozen rolls or crescent rolls (BCTGM). Want to spice up your grandmother’s stuffing recipe? You can use Aunt Millie’s bread (UFCW) to show your union support. Or load up on carbs with fresh-baked breads, buns, and rolls from in-store bakeries (BCTGM) at these union grocery stores: Giant, Safeway, Von’s, SuperValu, and Albertson’s (UFCW).
Of course, Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without a giant bird on the table. Whether you like your turkey fried, rotisserie, or oven-baked, consider purchasing your bird from Butterball (UFCW). Slice through the turkey with a Cutco knife (United Steelworkers). And drench it in Heinz gravy (UFCW) – you can even put it in a separate dish and pretend it’s homemade. What about the ham? Hormel (UFCW) and Farmland (UFCW) brands are both union made.
Now I know what you’re thinking, “you forgot the most important part of Thanksgiving dinner…dessert.” Have no fear, to satisfy your sweet-tooth there’s Sara Lee pumpkin or apple pie (BCTGM), as well as Entenmann’s and Mother’s Kitchen pies and cakes (BCTGM). Like it a’la mode? You can’t go wrong with union-made Breyers ice cream (UFCW). There you have it folks, a union-made thanksgiving with all the fixings. Remember to pace yourselves, and if you really want to impress your family and friends – check out our handy guide.

love the menu, but have a couple additions…how about some Lucky Leaf or Musselmans applesauce (UFCW), also Hanover Brand green beans (UFCW), and try a delicious Empire Kosher Turkey (UFCW), and a total must for the leftover turkey, WISE Chips (UFCW) with the turkey sandwich. I like some Turning Leaf wine (UFCW) with dinner
