Take action and keep workers’ rights intact

As the U.S. continues to recover from the Great Recession, Americans expect their political leaders to focus on restarting the economy and bringing back good jobs. Unfortunately, not all politicians are getting the message.

Governors and state legislatures across the country are ruthlessly targeting middle class, public employees, making them the scapegoat for Wall Street’s misdeeds. Florida’s governor wants to force employees to pay more into their pensions while cutting taxes on private business. Iowan construction workers are losing their rights to fair wages and safe investments. States like Indiana, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Missouri, and New Hampshire are just a few who are pushing so-called “Right to Work” bills which will weaken working standards for everyone and can lower incomes by over $5000 a year.

And to make matters worse, Ohio senators have introduced a bill that will eliminate collective bargaining rights for thousands of workers. Apparently when times get tough, some politicians only want to make it tougher.

Fortunately you can let these governors and state legislators know that you won’t let your friends, family and fellow community members be targeted for someone else’s wrongdoing. Sign the petition telling them to stand up for our public workers in order to protect our jobs now and preserve our economy for tomorrow.

  1. Our unions are WEAK and am not sure we will ever get our strength back! I belong to 2 unions steel workers and AFL-CIO. I work for a big oil company and they do what manangment wants them to do. I also keep my Labors card up to date in case something would happen. I am looking for legal advise on hostile work enviroment and discrimination.

If Congress refuses to stand up for us and demand more and better jobs, we should have the right to do it outselves. That is what this does, it does not mean you have to join a Union or be controlled by a large group, it simply allows us, the U.S. workers and taxpayers, to stand up for ourselves when the price of goods being sold is rising astronomically but out wages remain stagnant.

Big Business LOVES to tell you they create jobs, and they do. But they FILL those jobs OVERSEAS, which leaves Americans out of work! Wouldn’t Republicans LIKE turning people who RECEIVE unemployment insurance, welfare, etc., into people who PAY taxes? These hypocrites who bitch and moan about half of us supporting theother half? And why don’t they call that “unpatriotic”??

Here’s my idea: for every job outsourced overseas, tax the employer TRIPLE the fair-market salary — plus ALL DECENT benefits! — of an American in that job.
